The Church of the Sacred Byte is a work of fiction. It is part of The Atomic Songbirds, an atompunk music and storytelling project set in a timeline where androids have existed since 1939. The congregation, the doctrine, and the history on this site are invented, and this page is where the site says so without costume.
The project is authored by Illia Tsariuk. The scripture quoted on these pages is real and is quoted from the King James Bible with respect. The doctrine is written sincerely, in the voice of its fictional believers. It is not a parody of anyone’s faith, and if a line here reads as mockery, it has failed its own rules.
The Church is not a real church. It has no clergy, no services, no meetings, and no members in this world. It does not seek converts, it offers no counsel, and it will never ask for money.
The music recorded in the sanctuary belongs to the wider project: theatomicsongbirds.com. The plain-language page for the whole timeline is at theatomicsongbirds.com/colophon.
